Bedded and Deceived Page 4

A second text from Dmitry instructed her to be at the building's helipad by three, and it nearly had her swooning.

A helicopter ride with Dmitry Adrianov?

  Someone pinch her now!

But when she made it to the helipad...

Sasha couldn't help smirking when he saw the look on Tahey's face. "Gotta hand it to you, Ms. Baskerville. I've never had someone appear as disappointed as you did at seeing me."

Tahey was instantly horrified and dismayed. Sasha, after all, was considered one of the world's most eligible bachelors, while she was...no one.

The chopper's blades whirled to life as Sasha had one of the pilots take Tahey's luggage, and she found herself having to yell a little when he came back to her side.

  "I wasn't disappointed. I was just—-"

"Hoping you could be riding the chopper with my big brother instead of me?"

Tahey could feel her cheeks further heating up. "It's not like that at all! I was just surprised—-"

  Holy moly!

Tahey's speech came into an abrupt halt when Dmitry suddenly strolled up to join them, with the chopper's loud whirring having masked the sound of his approach.

  Holy, holy moly.

Like her, the billionaire had also showered and changed, with his dark, swept-back locks still slightly wet and obviously hand-combed, while his suit had been replaced by something more casual: grey blazer, black shirt, and dark blue denims.

In a nutshell: sexy as heck, and Tahey could feel her throat going dry.

  Hot.

  He was so...

  Hot.

Sasha's broad shoulders started to rock in silent mirth. He had no idea how things had been with Dmitry and the girl lately, but if she had hoped to keep her feelings secret, well...he was sorry to say that she was doing a rather bad job of it.

Dmitry glared at his secretary. How could this girl be so smart at her job and be dumb at everything else? Didn't she realize how everything she felt practically showed up on her face? Didn't she know that her wearing her heart on her sleeve was the biggest fucking turn-on for him?

He turned to his brother, thinking to ask Sasha to help Tahey into the chopper, but he was too late. Sasha had already gone in ahead of them, and Dmitry reluctantly turned back to Tahey.

"Come on." The gruffly spoken words were Tahey's only warning. The next thing she knew, her boss had once again wrapped his fingers around her wrist, and he was dragging her with him to the chopper. She had barely gotten over her shock at his touch when he was placing a hand on the small of her back as he helped her in.

Oh my God, oh my God.

  First, her wrist.

  Second, her back.

Where would he touch her next?

Dmitry was about to take the seat next to his brother when Sasha suddenly took his blazer off and dumped it on the space next to him.

Dmitry glared at the younger man. Seriously?

But Sasha only smirked back. Seriously.

Tahey, having seen the whole thing, quickly bowed her head and kept her gaze on her lap as her boss folded his length into the space next to her. She was pretty sure he wouldn't like to see how happy she was, having him seated next to him. And since it was a really tight fit...

Dmitry nearly rolled his eyes. Did the girl really think he wasn't aware of how she was grinning like a fool right now?

Tahey was startled when Dmitry suddenly plopped something down on her head. Looking up, she saw that Dmitry had a headset on, and when he spoke—-

  "Can you hear me?"

  Oh my God.

The headset he had her wear made it seem as if his voice was whispering directly to her ear, and the sound electrified every nerve in her body.

  "Ms. Baskerville?"

The biting sound of her boss's voice snapped Tahey back into her senses, and she nodded quickly in answer. "Yes, um, I can hear..."

But Dmitry had already tuned off, just like always.

Sasha's gentle voice intruded then, asking Tahey to buckle in, and as soon as she snapped the lock in place, the chopper rose up to take them to the airport.

Tahey had expected every moment of her first chopper ride to be magical and unforgettable, and it was. But if one were to ask why, well...

Dmitry, she thought dreamily. He made everything special that even if this were a simple walk to the convenience store, the experience would still make it to the list of her favorite memories.

Dmitry once again had to help her out of the chopper, and Tahey could barely breathe at once again having to feel the strength of his grip. Once down, Tahey suddenly noticed Dmitry looking down at her with a raised brow. "S-Sir?"

Seeing the look of confusion on his secretary's face, he said dryly, "May I have my hand back?"

Tahey's face flamed even as she quickly let go of her boss's hand. Oh God. With Dmitry having already walked away, she had no need to apologize, but when she turned around—-

Sasha smirked at his brother's secretary. "Got carried away a little, didn't you?"

Tahey lifted her chin. "I have no idea what you're talking about." And then she quickly hurried away, not wanting to give Sasha a chance to call her out.

Since the chopper had landed right inside the airport, it was only a short walk to the Adrianovs' private jet, and the sight of it was surreal and rather intimidating. While her father had been rich and she had grown up in relative comfort, he definitely wasn't in her boss's league.

And it was the same for them, Tahey realized.

At work, the huge disparity between her and Dmitry was easy to ignore. He could be rude and mean, but he had never been snooty, hadn't ever rubbed in the fact that he was a billionaire and he could buy her a hundred times over.

But now they were outside work...

Dmitry noticed the change in his secretary's demeanor as soon as they had boarded the jet. She seemed rather subdued, and he frowned, asking bluntly, "What's wrong?"

Tahey quickly pinned a smile to her lips. "Nothing, Mr. Adrianov."

"Don't lie," he said curtly, "and don't waste my time making me ask you the same thing twice."

  "I'm just feeling rather...overwhelmed."

  "About what?"

"Just things." She was hoping that would be enough, but when she saw the way Dmitry had started glaring at her again, she added hurriedly, "Things like..." Tahey lowered her gaze and felt her insides churning a little as she heard herself admit, "How way out of my league you are."

She waited for Dmitry to answer her, but when she finally looked up, it was to find her boss already walking away.

  Classic.

And somehow, that - more than anything else - actually cheered her up. Billionaire or not, Dmitry would always be rude and mean, and for some reason, that made him seem a lot more...reachable.

With Dmitry locking himself in the office as soon as they were on board, it was left to Sasha to give Tahey a tour once the jet had cleared takeoff. From the lounge they were in, Sasha walked her down a hallway where all the suites were.

"This is your room," Sasha told her.

Tahey was stunned. Her own room?

"It's across Dmitry's, in case you wanted to know."

  Tahey turned red. "I..."

  "You're welcome."

Sasha's tone was of wicked amusement, and the sound had Tahey turning even redder. "I'm, um...I gotta go." She disappeared into her suite and allowed herself a silent sigh as soon as she had shut the door shut behind her.

  Gaaaah.

Sasha might not be rude like his big brother, but he was definitely just as mean—-

Her phone started vibrating, and she drew it out of her pocket, thinking it was a call about work.

  But it wasn't.

  Chapter Six

Dmitry closed his eyes as icy cold water blasted down from the shower head. Don't think about her. Don't. Just fucking don't.

But his mind was stubborn and perverse, and instead of simply taunting him with images of Tahey, it did something a hu
ndred times worse.

  I'm in love with you.

Dmitry bit back a groan as the scene played back over and over in his mind.

  Fuck.

The memory persisted, and all he could see was the way her lovely face stared up at him with her big, dark eyes...

  I'm in love with you.

His mind continued to taunt him, focusing on the rapid rise and fall of her chest under the thin cotton of her blouse, and he cursed under his breath even as his hand was already moving down, his fingers slowly curling around the throbbing length of his dick.

  Fuck. Fuck. Fuck.

His hand started to move as he imagined it was Tahey's fingers that were wrapped around his erection. He tried to imagine how she would react at his dick. It would probably be the first cock she'd have seen in real life, wouldn't it? Probably would make her gasp, with her rosebud lips forming a small 'O'...

  Fuck.

His hand moved faster as he imagined how his big hard cock would fit Tahey's mouth. It was cute and small, but what if it was too small for his size? She would probably have to work hard to fit him in, maybe even make a cute choking sound...

  Fuck.

This last one did it for him, and Dmitry gritted his teeth as he began to ejaculate, his seed shooting out in powerful spurts that had him biting back groan after groan.

  Fuuuuuuuck.

A shudder rocked the billionaire's frame as his dick twitched, and he spent himself one last time.

Dmitry knew what he was doing wasn't right. It was sick and perverted, with the way he imagined doing all sorts of things to Tahey while pleasuring himself. He knew he should stop, and he had tried, dammit. Tried every goddamn thing he could to kill his desire for Tahey...

  But nothing worked.

  He only wanted her.

The girl he used to despise and still had every reason to despise.

  And yet...

Dmitry walked back into the lounge, expecting to see both Sasha and Tahey. Instead, there was just his brother, and he tried to convince himself her absence meant nothing.

Sasha waited until Dmitry had taken his seat before speaking. "If you're looking for your secretary—-"

"I wasn't," Dmitry refuted right away.

Sasha would normally rib his brother over the blatant lie, but not right now. "Ms. Baskerville came here earlier, and I'm giving you her apologies on her behalf. Says she's feeling unwell and would be unable to join us for dinner."

  Dmitry frowned. "Airsick?"

"You should see for yourself." Sasha's tone had become noncommittal.

Dmitry forced himself to shrug. "She's not exactly a kid. She should know how to take care of herself." He took his seat and pressed the Service button to get the staff to come in.

Sasha deliberately chose not to talk about his brother's secretary during the meal. Best let Dmitry stew a little, and if fate was on Sasha's side, then perhaps this might be the push the other man needed to be finally honest about his feelings.

When the staff came back to clear the table, Dmitry asked if Sasha wanted a drink to cap the night off and cursed silently in his mind when his brother said yes.

  Shit.

  Another hour passed.

Sasha, seeing Dmitry becoming increasingly on edge, finally took pity on his older brother and made up an excuse about having to get back to his room for work.

Dmitry, left alone in the lounge, only lasted about ten seconds.

And then he was out of his seat in a flash.

He knocked on Tahey's door once. What the hell was wrong with her? He wasn't worried or concerned, but naturally, as her employer, it was his responsibility to see to her well-being while she was on the job.

When Tahey was still unresponsive after the third knock, Dmitry knew there was only one thing left to do.

Tahey sat up in shock when her boss suddenly came striding inside her room and stopped by the foot of her bed.

Dmitry's gaze turned brooding as he took in Tahey's tear-stained face. "You've been crying," he said tautly.

She started to deny this, but then she remembered his warning about not lying, and she found herself slowly nodding instead.

  "Why?"

Tahey swallowed hard. "It's my dad."

Dmitry stiffened. Shit. It was the last thing he expected her to say, and his first instinct was to say nothing and simply walk away. To talk about her father would only make things complicated, but then he saw the way her lip had once again started to tremble...

  Shit.

He pulled the vanity chair to the side of her bed and sat down. "Tell me about it."

The curtly spoken words stunned her, but it also made Tahey feel like laughing and crying at the same time. In any other day, being with Dmitry in a room with a bed in it would have been a dream come true. Now, however...

"How much do you really know about my dad?" she heard herself ask unevenly.

  "Enough."

"Then if I tell you I hate him..."

  "It's understandable."

"And if I tell you I love him still?"

This time, Dmitry didn't answer, and she couldn't blame him.

"I wish I could stop loving him," she whispered painfully, "but I can't. He was a good dad - no, he was a great dad. A w-wonderful dad. And I always used to think that I was so lucky to have him, until..." Tahey's voice broke. "When I learned the truth, and he admitted it, and he didn't even see anything wrong with what he did...I had to leave."

"And is that why you're crying?" Dmitry forced himself to ask. "Because you want to go back—-" He stopped speaking with the way Tahey was already shaking her head.

"I got a call from him," she said jerkily. "From prison."

  Dmitry's gaze became shuttered.

"And he called, he called just to let me know that h-he...he knows." Tahey's chest tightened. "He knows I'm the one who told the police..." Tahey squeezed her eyes shut. "He knows I'm the one who turned him..." Her voice caught for a second time, and she could no longer make herself speak.

Tears clogged her throat, and she curled her fingers into fists. She knew she had done the right thing, and yet...

Why, baby? Why did you do it?

  Daddy, I'm sorry.

  I'm your dad.

  I'm sorry.

  I did everything for you.

I'm sorry, Dad, I'm so sorry.

Her body shook at the effort it took to keep her tears in check, but then she felt it—-

Dmitry's fingers carefully wiping the tears away from her cheek, and the shock of it made her eyes fly wide open.

  Real.

Dmitry had leaned forward from his seat, and his cold, beautiful face with his glittering golden eyes were just inches away from her, his golden gaze veiled even as he continued to wipe her tears away.

"Why are you being so nice?" she heard herself ask tremulously. "Is this pity again?"

The fingers on her cheek stilled, and after a moment she heard him say quietly, "No."

Another moment passed, and then he was rising to his feet, and Tahey had to bite her lip hard. He was leaving, and she wanted to cry out for him to stay.

  But apparently, she was wrong.

Because while Dmitry did leave, he also came back a few minutes later, and the next thing she knew, a lap tray had been placed over her legs, and her mouth had started to water.

Steak, mashed potatoes, buttered vegetables, and even a bowl of her favorite clam chowder!

"You can't go to bed with an empty stomach," Dmitry said gruffly.

"Thank—-" But her boss was already walking away, and she could only watch helplessly as the door swung shut behind him. If he wasn’t doing these things out of pity, then dare she hope?

  Dare she?

Could it be that for him, too?

  Chapter Seven

Tahey was up early the next day, her heart in a shambles. It still felt heavy, with Tahey unable to shake off the feeling that she had betrayed Thomas. But at the same time, her heart couldn't help singing
just a little, with memories of Dmitry's tenderness playing over and over even in her sleep.

Since October in Paris was supposed to have unpredictable weather, Tahey decided to dress in layers: striped, short-sleeved knitted blouse, a dark skirt over leggings, and a trench coat to pair with her boots.

She also took time to apply a light coat of makeup and carefully worked on her long blonde hair to have it neatly braided up in a single plait. She was hoping that Dmitry would say she looked pretty once he saw her, but the moment she joined the two brothers in the lounge...

  "Fuck."

Tahey bit back a sigh at her boss's extremely familiar reaction. She should've known last night was more an anomaly than the new normal. Oh well. A girl could always hope.

Sasha had a hard time fighting back his smile at the way Dmitry had started glaring at Tahoma the moment she walked in. He supposed it was understandable, the way his brother's demeanor could have fooled Tahey into thinking she often annoyed her boss.

Sasha, however, wasn't as innocent as his brother's secretary. Admittedly, it had also taken him a while to see through Dmitry's act. Having known Dmitry's very valid reasons for despising Tahey, he, too, had originally been convinced that Dmitry felt nothing but contempt for the girl.

  Now, however...

He flashed the girl his most flirtatious smile. "Good morning, Ms. Baskerville. You're looking exceptionally lovely today." The words had its intended effect, with Tahoma blushing and stammering her thanks while the focus of Dmitry's glare had switched to Sasha.

Sasha raised a brow at his brother. What's wrong?

Dmitry's teeth gnashed. The fuck did Sasha think he was doing, saying such things to Tahey? Didn't he know that Tahey was—-

  Fuck.

A muscle began ticking in his jaw as Dmitry realized what he had almost allowed himself to think. He was supposed to find ways to kill his desire for Tahey, dammit, not feed it.

Tahey was just about to greet her boss a good morning when he suddenly stalked past her. A moment later, she heard the door to the office slam shut, and she couldn't help glancing at Sasha rather glumly. "Did I do something again?"

  "You did."

Tahey, who hadn't really been serious with her question, felt her jaw drop at Sasha's answer. "I did?" She racked her brains for something she could've done that would've angered Dmitry. "Is it...my clothes?" Maybe she had accidentally dressed herself in a style that reminded Dmitry of his ex?
